How would you like to create your very own "Great Commission" video animation -- customized for your church? This how-to article will show you how!
Some of you are saying, "That'd be great Jeremy, but I don't own any of that expensive software for video editing." Not a problem. This tutorial was written for small churches -- even if your budget is zero. And you'll do it using software that you already have on your computer, or stuff you can download for free.
So without further delay, here are the step by step instructions...
- Use the best-performing computer (at your church or home). You should use a high-speed internet connection (DSL, Cable, etc.) for this to work best.
- Go to www.earth.google.com. Using the button in the upper right corner, download & install the free version of Google Earth. (Example below)
- Go to www.camstudio.org. About half-way down the page, use the link that says http://www.camstudio.org/CamStudio20.exe to download & install the free CamStudio (See example below). We'll use this for creating the movie.
- Open Google Earth. Zoom in on your town. If the detail is available you may even be able to zoom in on the rooftop of your church, like you see in the example below.
- Click on the "Add Placemark" icon. It's a yellow thumbtack on the menu. Use this to label your church
- Now open CamStudio. Click on "Region" and then "Fixed Region..." Change the width box to 800 and the height box to 600. Then click OK.
- Once everything is setup, click "View" in Google Earth and click and hide the Toolbar and the Sidebar.
